Gastric ulcer

What is gastric ulcer?

A gastric ulcer is an erosion into the muscular lining of the stomach. It is often associated with Helicobacter pylori infection or use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) which disrupt normal mucosal defense and repair, making the mucosa more susceptible to acid.
