Lumbosacral radiculopathy results from inflammation and/or impingement of the nerve roots in the area of the lumbar and sacral vertebrae region, frequently referred to as L5-S1 radiculopathy indicating that the 5th lumbar nerve root and the 1st sacral nerve root are affected.
