What is ocular histoplasmosis?
Histoplasmosis is a disease caused when airborne spores of the fungus Histoplasma capsulatum are inhaled into the lungs. If it spreads to the eyes, the condition is called ocular histoplasmosis. The spores of the fungus are often found in soil and becomes airborne when the soil is disturbed.
